Hey, I'm Josie (Josephine) - CogSci major turned accidental physicist, rugby player, and proud book hoarder on a student budget.
I play rugby hard enough to keep my ankles on their toes - literally.
About Me
I'm a Cognitive Science major at Mount Allison University (switched from Computer Science after realizing I care more about how brains think than how CPUs compute). I also minor in Applied Physics, because apparently one existential crisis of a major wasn't enough.
The CS to CogSci pipeline is basically: "How does this work?" → "No, but how do I know how this works?" → "Wait, what even is knowing?" And now I'm here, studying the hardware and the wetware at the same time.
Rugby
Student-athlete life hits different when your sport is rugby. I play for Mount Allison University because apparently getting tackled at full speed is a great way to de-stress from quantum mechanics problem sets.

My ankles are as unstable as my dorm Wi-Fi. you'd think after the third sprain I'd learn, but here we are. The team calls me "Printer" because I keep going down on paper - or something like that. I blacked out during that nickname meeting.
Reading
My bookshelf is basically on loan from the library and funded by Indigo's clearance section. I can fit an alarming number of paperbacks in my backpack despite surviving on instant ramen.
Current obsession: Dungeon Crawler Carl - because who needs literary fiction when you can read about a guy in boxers surviving a litRPG apocalypse with his ex-girlfriend's cat. Peak literature.
Gaming
I'm probably the only person on campus who can say "I'm grinding for a raid and a rare Charizard simultaneously" and mean it with a straight face. Xbox by night, Pokémon card binder by daybreak.
My Pokémon collection is worth more than my textbooks. I haven't decided if that says more about the card market or the textbook industry. My secret flex: a holo Charizard I pulled from a booster pack during a stats lecture.
Music
Spotify Premium user here, which means I pay to curate playlists with immaculate vibes that nobody listens to. My three definitive playlists:
Study Beats
Ambient + lo-fi to trick my brain into thinking I'm productive
Rugby Warm-Up
Aggressive bass drops that convince me I can outrun anyone (I cannot)
Late-Night Gaming
Synthwave and panic - the soundtrack to last-second raid saves
